Protoss Vs Zerg Basic Strategy

Playing against a good Zerg player can be challenging but with the right units a Protoss player can dominate. This guide will show you how to beat a Zerg player 1v1 by using the right unit counters and scouting techniques.

The key to winning this type of game is scouting, you need to know what units they are going to send at you, so I would recommend getting an observer pretty early on in the game. If he is making a lot of zerglings you need to build a colossus or 2 really fast and they will make short work of the zerglings, just make sure you have a few zealots and stalkers to defend the colossus from attacks. If he is using a lot of roaches and hydralisks then you should build immortals as they do very well against roaches and hydras. If he is dumb enough to try and attack you with mutalisks then just build up a bunch of stalkers and you should have no trouble taking them out. Those 3 are the main attacks that a Zerg player with through at you so winning this type of game is pretty straightforward.

Of course there is one other major option that a Zerg player can use and that is building infestors. A good Zerg player with infestors can be a big problem for us so keep an eye out for these and if you see them coming the smartest thing to do is build some air units such as void rays or phoenix to handle the infestors from the air. If you follow this guide and learn the strenghts and weaknesses of your units then beating even a very good Zerg player can be a breeze. Good luck and I hope to see you on battlenet soon!

Becoming an advanced Starcraft 2 player is very challenging and confusing. I purchased the Starcraft 2 Advanced Strategy Guide from Star2Pros.com and I have been very impressed with the strategies they teach. I would highly recommend it to any Starcraft 2 player who wants to get to the top of the Diamond Ladders, I think this guide might be the only one of its kind.

Anyways, good luck to all of you and I hope to see you on BattleNet!

Resident Evil Revisited

Since its debut in 1996, Resident Evil (RE) has been a phenomenon in the gaming world. Capcom must be very proud of what has become a world famous flagship product. From the initial release on the Sega Saturn the game has now sold over 40 million copies on a variety of gaming platforms including the PC, GameCube, PlayStation mobile, Wii, PS1, PS2 and PS3 and the Nintendo 64. However, like many continuing titles the various sequels have had a mixed reception from gamers.

Many players still claim that the initial release of RE was the best in the series. Certainly it was an atmospheric and innovative game in its day, but gaming has come a long way since that time.

RE 2 represents another high water mark in the games progression. This version was financially successful but received some mixed reviews. This is another gamers favourite edition.

RE 3 by contrast received almost complete rave reviews and top ratings, but was financially less successful than its predecessor. this is perhaps a release over which the reviewers got it wrong.

Resident Evil 4 was again well received and was true to the original ideas of the game. This version was highly touted as 2005 game of the year and won many awards. It is probably fair to say that it redefined two genres of games: third person shooters and survival horror games. A significant improvement the game brought to shooter generally is the importance of aiming. For example, in Resident Evil 4 shooting an enemy in the foot will cause them to stumble or at least slow down. Previously location of hits played no role in affecting a mobs movement.

In terms of financial success Resident Evil 5 was the triumph of the RE series. The reviews the product received were more moderate however. It is certainly true to say that a significant proportion of the fan base views RE 4 as the high water mark of the series. The main reason for this seems to be the view that this release was merely a re-working of the original game with little new or innovative content.

What few would disagree about however is that there certainly is a large and as yet untapped demand for a new version of the game - Resident Evil 6 is a hot topic on many gaming forums today. Unfortunately for fans of RE 5, the games lead developer Jun Takeuchi has stated that he does not intend to return to the Resident Evil series "until at least two Olympics have passed". This leaves the field open for another game developer to step in and revisit what must surely be another successor in the Resident Evil series.

Resident Evil 3 was a great game and so was RE 4, but as RE 5 received such a mixed reception will there ever be a Resident Evil 6?

History of Call of Duty

The history of Call of Duty is an extensive topic to say the least. This game has been on the market for over seven years. With seven different editions to the game collection, new players may find it a bit hard to jump in the game. While game play is always fun it is a bit tougher to follow the story line. Let's take a look at some of the expansions in call of duty.

The first Call of Duty was released in October 2003. It was originally released in the PC gaming platform only. Players got the chance to become a soldier in an epic battle of good VS evil. Based on the Quake III Arena Engine this game was also a first person shooter. A second edition to the Call of Duty series was released in October 2005. Due to the growing popularity in counsel games and upgraded platforms Call of Duty 2 was also released to Xbox in November 2005. It is also interesting to note that a version of Call of Duty 2 was released for cell phones and smartphones. The third of Call of Duty was released one year later in November 2006. A significant fan base grew from the first 3 editions.

Time between game releases began to follow a one year wait. In November 2007 Call of Duty 4: Modern War Fair was released. This was the first edition to receive a mature audience rating and marks the improvement of graphics and violence in the Call of duty series. Now with so many competing counsel platforms Call of Duty: World at War was released on 4 different platforms in November 2008. For the next installment of the series Activision decided to pick back up after Call of Duty 4: Modern War Fair and so the games new edition would be called Call of Duty: Modern War Fair 2. This edition was released in November 2009. Now excluding the Nintendo Wii as a platform for the Call of duty series. There are already three more editions in the works.

Computer Games - Teenagers Paradise

Since the development of the first computer game- Spacewar, by three MIT students in 1961, these games have become the best source of entertainment for both adults and teenagers. But it's the teenagers who enjoy them better when compared to adults amidst their busy working schedules.

A wide range of games are being made available through internet which can be downloaded with ease, through DVDs and CDs, software's and online delivery services. With their amazing graphics, visuals and audio quality and fascinating game experiences, they have indeed become one of the best opted modes of entertainment among teenagers.

A major plus point which computer games have is that they do not require separate gaming consoles or arcade machines like that of play stations. Instead they can be played easily with a pc or lap top. Games like Super Mario 64, Ghost Recon: Advanced War fighter, City of Villains etc which were released by Microsoft has gained lots of popularity.

With the advent of new 3D libraries such as DirectX and OpenGL and the use of sound cards, the computer gaming industries have been able to develop newer games with exquisite graphic and audio quality.

Computer game designing is another aspect which attracts teenagers and adults alike. It is natural to develop an interest towards game designing but the task requires vast knowledge of programming languages in different operating systems. Earlier it was possible to develop games by small groups of people, as in the case of Wolfenstien 3D, but today computer games require a big team and a big budget.

Taking a peep into the demerits of computer games, teenager's addiction towards them is the one that stands first. Secondly a lot of violence has been associated with video gaming due to the violent and objectionable content within them.

How to Not Getting Addicted to WoW

Addicted to WoW? I'am, here some tips to not addicted to WoW

Your eyes are bleary and you've been living on caffeine for several nights in a row. Now you are wondering if you've become a wee bit obsessed with World of Warcraft. So what are you going to do to avoid full-on WoW Addiction?

There's a few simple precautions you can take to make sure you don't "lose time" in the game, which is something that eventually happens to all of us who spend a lot of time online. So here are my four tips for not getting addicted to WoW.

1. Become anti-social

The number one biggest time sink in World of Warcraft is your guild. If you spend a lot of time preparing for matches or large raids on instances and your Guild or clan insists that everyone does practice sessions and meets for scheduled events, you are probably in the wrong clan. Because none of those people have a life and neither will you if you try and keep up with them.

So either play by yourself, which will definitely help you avoid losing time; or play with other players who take the game a lot less seriously because they have other outside commitments or interests.

2. Turn off Chat

Do you spend more time chatting with your friends than playing? You can turn off Guild chat, general chat and trading chat. When you need them you can always turn them back on again.

3. Get an internet timer

Do you have zero willpower? Then you may just have to do something to force yourself to stop playing. This is a drastic step, but it should work. Internet timers are something that parents use to control the amount of time their kids spend online, but there's nothing stopping you from getting your own parental control software and using it to get a handle on your own gaming time. You can use it to control access just to WoW, or set it up to log you off the internet completely.

4. Get some new interests

Here's a crazy idea for you. Why not do something else tonight or Saturday afternoon. For example, go for a walk, or settle down with a good book, or maybe call up a couple of friends and spend time with them offline. You can go to the movies or go see a ballgame. Getting outside and experiencing the fresh air and doing some exercise every day can really change your outlook and make you reconsider just how much time you want to spend in front of your computer screen. Make a deal with yourself that before you log into WoW, you'll go for a short walk first. Make a new plan for yourself and stick to it.

Of course, in the long run, you know you aren't going to stop playing. So you might as well get the most out of World of Warcraft that you can. To learn the best strategies for WoW powerleveling, a good Alliance leveling guide can give you the extra edge you need.

Best Old, Low Requirement Games to Run on Netbooks

One of the most popular posts on my old blog was one covering older games that are still enjoyable to play. With the latest netbook craze, the subject of low-requirement games is more relevant than ever. Here, I recommend 5 games that I think you should have if you have a netbook, or other low powered computer. Now I feel that I should take another look at the topic and see if there have been any newer releases or take a look back to see if there were any old games that I missed last time. Here's the new list:

Little Big Adventure 2
Railroad Tycoon II
Sim City 3000
Plants Vs. Zombies
Crayon Physics
TripleA
Monopoly
NOLF
GTA I & II
Online games

1) Little Big Adventure 2 (AKA Relentless: Twinsen's Adventure) (1997)

My favourite game from last time was Little Big Adventure 2. This is becoming increasingly hard to run on modern machines, due to incompatibility. Just search Google for 'LBA2 graphics patch' and you should be able to easily download it.

2) Railroad Tycoon II (1998)

If you want you could run Tycoon III or even Railroads! If you think your computer is capable. This game allows you to create your own railroad empire, through a series of campaigns, though you can also do what you want. The main game offers challenging scenarios and will give you hours of play time. There is a multiplayer, but due to the age of the game, there probably won't be anyone to play with.

3) Sim City 3000 (1999)

Last time I suggested Sim City 2000, but I think modern netbooks would easily be able to run 3000, even later versions. This game allows you to create your own city and control how it evolves and survives. There's little more I can say, if you enjoy the endless gameplay this genre offers, this game is for you.

4) Plants vs Zombies (2009)

Nearly any Popcan game should run on a netbook, they're new games, but don't require dedicated graphics cards. Plants Vs Zombies is an original tower defence game where you build fields of plants to defend your house from wave after wave of zombie attack. You really have to play it to see how fun and addictive this game can be. Popcan offers both a downloadable and online demo on their website!

5) Crayon Physics (2009)

Buy this game for the price you want to pay, by visiting this website. You won't be disappointed, this game offers an innovative and unique gaming experience. The aim of the game is to get your ball to the onscreen star by drawing lines and the help of gravity... another game you have to play to appreciate how fun it can be. The only complaint I would have is that it's a little short and you go through the levels quite quickly once you get into it.

6) TripleA - Free http://sourceforge.net/projects/triplea/files/

This is a free JAVA computer game, playable on its own or multiplayer. It will be familiar to those who have played Risk or Axis Vs Allies, it's a turn based strategy game that can keep you entertained for hours.

7) Monopoly (2008)

I suppose if you love the game you'll love this and if you don't... there's no point in you buying this. Just as the name says, it's monopoly. The computerisation means you don't have to calculate what money is owed, handle physical cards or move pieces yourself, but I find that this takes away a significant amount of fun that I get from the real-life counterpart.

8) No One Lives Forever / NOLF (2000)

I actually played NOLF 2 before I played the original NOLF and I found the first one simply because it seemed to be more compatible with lower spec machines (NOLF 2 requires T&L, not many integrated cards support this). NOLF offers a uniquely comical approach to the 1st person shooter genre, with it's humour yet quality game play, you can't be bored by this classic.

9) GTA I & II (1997) & (1999) - FREE from http://www.rockstargames.com/classics/

If you're used to playing the latest GTA IV, it may come as a shock to you that this is where the game started, with a top-down viewing angle. But if you want to be able to play a variant of the game wherever you are, download this. Both games are freely available from the Rockstar Classic collection website and should have no problem running on netbooks.

10) Lots/Any online Flash/Java game

Just to name some examples, Runescape is a great thing to run on netbooks, although it seems childish, it's a big place with offering lots of play time. Search the internet for online games and you'll find lots to do.

There were a few other games I was considering adding in, a few of these were World of Goo, The Sims and Cogs, check them out!

The Pros and Cons of Kids' Games

This article will explain to you some of the advantages and disadvantages of playing kids' games online.
All children love to play games. Due to this, the gaming industry is growing with more and more different types of games. There are cool games, IQ games, challenging games, funny games and many more. The more popular kids' games are online PC games. The sound effect and the image quality make the PC games more attractive and interactive. Now, let us discuss further on the pros and cons of kids' games.

Kids who love to play games are said to be more intelligent and creative. For example, IQ games are able to train a kid to think and solve problems easily. Based on research done, children are able to learn faster when they are small. Some of the challenging games and puzzles are also able to train the kids' abilities in problem solving.

There are also educational type of games to help kids to improve in their mathematics, readings and spellings. Besides that, games such as World War, Star Wars and Space Ships require your kids to strategize before playing. It improves their ability to think thoroughly and make a wise decision to win the games.

Apart from all these benefits, there are also some disadvantages in playing online games. Playing games for a long period of time may strain your eyes and affect your brain. Why is this happening? The reason is kids are always focusing in everything they do including playing games. Thus, spending time in front of the computer will only cause hallucination or headache as kids are exposed to PC radiation too long. Sitting in front of the computer will also cause back and neck pain.

Kids who pay too much attention in front of the PC will eventually become lazier. They can just spend whole day playing games without thinking of other things.

Thus, as parents, it is important to keep track on your children. Do not let them play with PC games for too long and you have to make them discipline all the time.

Gold Farming on WoW

One of the most effective ways to earn in-game gold is through. Although many people dread the thought of this method of material and item gathering, it has proven time and time again to be lucrative if you know how to do it. Knowing how the best WoW farming works means knowing which items you should be going after. Here are some helpful WoW farming tips to get you started so you can start to build up your gold stores.

The Auction House Tells All

Start by monitoring the auction house. Look for items you feel will sell well, especially materials needed to skill up professions. Take a few days and watch how the market changes, if it changes at all. Some items are constant best sellers while others are rarely found. What you want to avoid is an item that has little demand and a great supply. That is why monitoring the auction house is so important. You can look for trends or see if items are sitting there unsold for days or weeks on end.

Where to Farm?

Now that you have some idea about what you should be looking for, find out where you can find the item in abundance. Many World of Warcraft databases are available online and can provide a wealth of in-game information for free. A quick Google search should produce a few solid results to get you started. Many websites include drop rates listed with the mob so you know which are your best options.

Profession Material Farming

Material is one of the most lucrative out there. There is a constant demand for materials because old and new players are always skilling up their professions. Every time a new character is made, there is a good chance the character will soon begin a profession. You can benefit from this by WoW farming materials.

Just like with WoW farming mobs, many websites include detailed information about where you can find materials. Depending on what type of material it is, you should have some idea where to look. For example, ore deposits are almost always found around rocky areas, at the base of hills and mountains or along hill sides. Get to know all the respawn points in areas you frequent so you can quickly gather materials on your way to complete quests or do other WoW farming.

WoW farming is a great way to obtain significant wealth in the game. This can help tremendously should you make new characters or switch servers. Although you can survive with minimal gold, especially at lower levels, it can add a lot of convenience to your gaming experience. Rather than risking a purchase from a gold seller, which can wind up with your account being banned or your credit card information stolen, can earn you fast cash. Ask friends for their suggestions about where to go. Most seasoned players have a favorite WoW farming location that might help you!

Awesome Free Online games

A Look At The History

Online games have developed in the way they look and level of audio technology. Although free online games weren't around fifty years ago, the enhancement in artwork and audio engineering transformed what the public think of online games nowadays.

Unlike what you get in online games today that have amazing 3D and life like graphics and audio, it all began with a video game called the Computer Space. This video game was released by Nutting Associates in 1970 and was the 1st coin-operated arcade game.

In 1972, the Odyssey 100 game system was introduced. This game could be attached to a normal tv set to show the graphics and play the game. Another launch in 1972 was when Atari launched Pong. This is a coin operated machine and is played with 2 little straight lines that you move up and down to stop the "ball" passing thru.

The real video game difference began in the late 70's. when Atari introduced the Video Computer System or the VCS (renamed Atari 2600 later). This idea uses cartridges and delivered colored visuals and audio through the tv set. The game was played with a joystick or paddles.

The Atari 2600 was the most popular gaming systems invented in its stage. The system was continually in such demand that retail stores constantly ran out of stock, especially on the holidays.

Yet, in the early 80's, more and more video game manufacturers began coming out. An illustration would be Nintendo. Nintendo's Family Computer was a global achiever and sold over half a million units around the world in a brief period of 2 months. In 1985, Nintendo introduced a equivalent system in the United States called the Nintendo Entertainment System.

With the launch of the Nintendo Entertainment System in the US, it also released the Super Mario Bros. video game that was a total hit. The Super Mario Bros. game reportedly had global sales adding up to $40.24 mil and was declared the best-selling game of them all.

In the late 1980's more and more video game manufacturers began releasing their latest game systems. Sega Enterprises released the Genesis home game system in the US and was a total hit. It generated sales adding up to 14 million dollars.

In 1995, Sony Electronics launched the 32-bit CD-ROM game system called the Playstation in the US. It was a phenomenal smash and this was the start of the Sony PlayStation legend.

The popularity of Sony PlayStation paved the way to more technologically advanced graphics systems and other video gaming systems manufacturers began to follow suit. The CD-ROM technology to be structured in a video game system is now the most popular style to play a video game.

Sega Enterprises and Nintendo followed with a parallel concept of using a CD-ROM to play its games rather than using cartridges.

Sega launched the Dreamcast game system in Japan in 1998 with features like a 200 MHz processor, 12X speed 1 Gigabyte CD-ROM drive and a 56 kbps modem. But, it arrived too late to threaten the Nintendo 64 and the much anticipated PlayStation 2.

In 2000, PlayStation released the PlayStation 2 with great success. About 1,000,000 units were shipped from Japan on the first weekend and have been one of the most popular video game systems ever launched since Atari.

Additional companies likewise followed. Nintendo introduced the GameCube video game system and Microsoft launched the Xbox game system in the US. The Xbox had features that no other gaming system had. It had an 8 Gigabyte hard drive, 733 MHz Pentium III Processor and a 250MHz nVidia graphics coprocessor. Also, it was capable of being connected to a broadband internet connection.

In 2005 Microsoft introduced the Xbox 360 video game system in the United States. It has a wireless controller, headset and a 20 Gigabyte hard drive.

So, as history would suggest video game systems are speedily advancing in graphics and audio technology. You can only wait and see what Sony, PlayStation, Nintendo and other video game system manufacturers will think of next.

Educational Games

Educational computer games are created to make the process of learning more fun. Computer games can attract children towards learning by making the process of learning interesting. Therefore, allowing children learn something constructive through such games is a good idea.

Instances:

As children grow older, they can study geography by using adventure-style games. In addition, there are simulation, quest and curriculum-based games. Some objectives of learning may include introduction to new words, strategy planning, creative thinking and teamwork.

Educational games may combine two different things that are entertainment and learning. Most of the children get bored because of textbook oriented learning. Thus, computer games can be the solution to this problem, as this will help them to avoid boredom. Educational computer games apart from being entertaining are also amusing.

A number of educative games are available in the market. They offer various game activities to children associated with arts, math, language, music and other skills. In addition, there are preschool computer games that contain simple activities such as introduction to alphabets, numbers, shapes and color coordination. These games are very helpful for parents to attract their children in the process of learning.

Nowadays, teachers can consider these games as effective tools of learning which greatly depends on the digital technology. In this computerized age, these games can be integrated in the school curriculum.

Activities for elementary children are often approved or designed by teachers. These activities can be structured in lessons for elementary school to offer them a more interactive way of learning. These activities may include learning math and computer skills.

Introduction of sound in these activities can be of great help to early readers in understanding the lessons well. It will excite children for playing these games and learning in a fun way. Thus, educational computer games can be an effective tool of learning.

Flight Simulator - Yoke or Joystick?

When you first start using a flight simulator software package, most people will start controlling the plane with a keyboard and possibly the mouse. After getting the hang of the flying and controlling the aircraft, you may be looking to add more realism to the experience. An easy way to do that is to add flight controls such as a yoke or joystick. Read on to find out which one is the right choice for you.

The central control in most, but not all aircraft is the yoke, also known as the control column or control wheel. Traditionally aircraft have been controlled with a yoke. The yoke controls the ailerons and the elevators. There is an aileron on each wing and turning the yoke to the left or right will cause one aileron to go up while the other goes down, resulting in the aircraft banking. The yoke also controls the elevators. The elevators are located at the rear of the aircraft, and pushing the yoke forward or pulling it back will move the elevator up or down changing the pitch of the aircraft.

You may think that a joystick is just for games and connecting a yoke to your flight simulator will be the preferred option as that is the real control that is in most aircraft. Most planes do have a yoke in the cockpit but not all. Fighter jets, aerobatic planes and even the airbus use a joystick. In fact modern aircraft like the airbus are increasingly flown by stick, one reason being they are flown by 'wire' instead of using mechanical systems that are actually connected to the control surfaces.

So it actually depends on the aircraft you intend to train on and fly as to whether a joystick or yoke is the better option for you. Some people actually have a personal preference for the feeling of controlling the aircraft with one or the other. Most aircraft including the Cessna and Boeing still use a yoke, so you should check the controls in the plane you are planning to fly.

For more information on finding the best flight simulator yoke for you, head on to http://www.flightsimulatoryoke.org/ for the latest news, information and tips on adding a flight simulator yoke to your cockpit.

Video Game Controllers

Video Game controllers have advanced tremendously over the years to keep up with spectacular abilities of new games on the market. Serious and novice gamers alike know that to fully enjoy all the capabilities of newer games, it takes a controller that can handle all the functions available in a game. In fact, certain types of game controllers are better for certain types of games and often gamers will have more than one controller on hand so that they can experience the best of what a game has to offer.

No doubt playing a computer game with a keyboard is slow and quite frankly, it lacks the thrill of using a game controller. Why? There is a big difference between pounding on keys and holding a controller in your hands pushing buttons. Even the most common styles of multipurpose game controllers that you hold with both hands add a degree of lifelike simulation to playing. Keyboards do not give you that feeling because you are not holding it, you are merely hitting keys.

Many of the two handed multipurpose controllers are shaped like an upside down "U" and you clutch each end with one hand. Holding the controls in this manner produces a feeling of being more in control of your actual game interaction; more as if you are actually navigating your way through a game's scenery. These types of game controllers can be used with nearly any PC game.

Of course with any type of technological equipment there are always "basic" and "pro" versions with a wide range of models in-between. The buttons on the common multipurpose game controller pads will change actions according to what game you are playing--meaning that a button used to release bombs in one game may be used to jump in another. Some of the more elaborate models include extra buttons on the device that allow for user programing of extra functions in some games (provided the game also allows a few "hotkeys" to be input by the user).

Though you can use most basic PC game controllers to play most games, there is good reason to buy the best game pad you can with the money you have to spend. This is one time when skimping on a device is not a good idea. The more functionality you have with a controller, the more likely it is that it will keep up with new games being produced that require and rely on more and more controller ability to completely enjoy all the satisfying features of a game.

Many manufactures are producing more refined game controllers these days. Steering wheels and foot pedal sets that give the feeling of driving a car are excellent for all racing and off-roading types of games. Handlebars that simulate the feel of a motorcycle, the throttle and even sometimes a clutch and brake are great for motocross games. There are flight sets with joy sticks and aviation gauges that emulate real flying. Guitar, drums and other musical style game controls give the feel of playing real musical instruments. The variety of game controllers available is growing at a steady pace with the variety of magnificent games being sold on today's market.

Beyond having something to hold that feels like the real deal, there are also controllers that react to motions such as body motions swaying back and forth. In fact, there are even some game controller chairs that actually will move with the terrain of the game giving as realistic a playing experience as technology can produce at this time.

If you're wanting to fully enjoy all of your game's high quality graphics and sounds, it's also important to have a good video card and sound system. These items will make all of your computing more enjoyable. Video cards will enhance the graphics in all your programs and the sound systems with greatly improve music and videos you listen to as well as the sound effects of any program you use.

If you don't have a game pad, it's best to start out with a common multipurpose game controller that is as advanced as you can afford. This way you can enjoy all your games with it and know that it will still work well for you as new games come out. It's actually a smart investment to buy a good PC game controller. For one thing it saves wear and tear on your keyboard and for another it will allow you to gain the maximum enjoyment from your games. Thus giving you ultimate pleasure and relaxation which is definitely beneficial to your health.

The Psychology of Multi Media Online Role Playing Games

A character in a MMORPG is a reflection of how players see or intend to see themselves.

Most Massively Multi-Player Online Role Playing Games or MMORPG provide the players with an option on what character to play. This involves choosing their abilities and their looks. The player may want to become a healer that helps other players stay alive while they fight. Other become long range fighter through their bow and arrow or guns. Others find hand to hand combat more exciting.

This is already tells you a part of how they want to see themselves especially if the game they are playing allows them form teams and communities. Leaders will naturally gravitate towards setting the goals of the team, setting a common time so that teams can play together, and even dictate which teams they will fight.

It is also not a strange thing to encounter female players posing as male figures and kids becoming the most powerful character. A game may also be a place where they live out their frustrations. It is empowering for a lot of women to play a male character and "experience" the privileges that come with it. Express their aggression online instead of doing it in the real world.

It is also an license to do what they want without suffering the consequences. In the game, they can kill as many opponents as they want, curse, laugh, love and not have to live with the results of what they did. They can be careless and irresponsible and the only thing that will suffer is their character. There is a way around it, just restart the character. The only thing that is lost is the time they invested in their old character but at least they get a new start. That is something you can't do in real life.

MMORPG, in other words is a chance for players to live life a second time.

Games Tips = How to Beat the Tower Defense (TD) Games

I assume that you like playing tower defense games, just like me. Have you ever been in this situation: you began playing some time ago, you start the current wave to see all your towers fire away, yet a few of the enemies still make it to your base, with only a little life spared, but just enough to make all your previous efforts useless? Oho, especially if your base did not have enough hit points left and you have to start all over again, I know how that feels!

Well, bellow I'll write some tips to help you manage the situation and win more tower defense games. There are differences from game to game, but the advise you will receive is intended to be general.

  1. Put the towers with short range (usually the ones you afford at the beginning or some powerful, but short-ranged, ones) as close as possible to the turning points in the maze. This way they will keep firing for a longer time.
  2. Put the long-ranged towers towards the middle of the map. Consider that most of the times their range will increase when upgrading them! This way you will cover much more of the path the enemy walks on.
  3. Use towers with slowing effects! It's best to put them before groups of towers which will inflict massive damage.
  4. If you know that you'll deal with self healing enemies don't scatter your towers to much. You don't want them to have time to regain their health.
  5. If there are poison towers, they belong to the beginning of the maze, and at precalculated intervals (to poison the enemy again when the effect wears off).
  6. Upgrades: you have to figure it out while playing which towers are really worth upgrading. I.e. upgrading a slow tower might be more beneficial for your defense (and cheaper) than upgrading the whole group of towers behind it. Anyway, on small maps and towards the end of the game, you will be forced to go for quality over quantity (especially if the enemy has armor!).
  7. In some tower defense games, some enemies are more susceptible to damage from certain towers. Find out which, if the case, and use it against them!

A great place to apply these tips and to start winning right now is this: New Tower Defense Games. There are over 100 tower defense games and new ones are added frequently. It's where I play;)

I love playing games very much and therefore started the Fresh Free Online Games initiative.

Hidden Object = Fun

Do you remember the old "Highlight" magazines from your childhood? I loved those mismatch puzzles, find the difference games, and the hidden objects scenes. Why can't those continue into our adult lives? These games are not only entertaining, but they also have valuable brain stimulating attributes. The puzzles promote problem solving skills as well as visual stimulation. Studies have also shown these type of games slow the onset of Alzheimer. They keep the brain active and force you to think in ways that you may have stopped in an older age.

Well, some good news. These type of games are now online to the likeness of the adult version of "Highlight." These hidden object games are fun to play and test your skills. They are a fun, rewarding challenge. The games are cheap and they come in all varieties. They are also long games that can take days to complete. They are easily worth the seven dollars. The best part is is that you download them onto your computer. You get to replay them and keep them forever.

So what is a "hidden object game?" Most of these games follow the same basic script. You have to collect items and use clues that you find to escape a predicament. There are all sorts of different puzzles that you must solve and hidden object scenes where you find all the tools to progress. But often they correlate together. There is also a strategy to these games. You often get to choose where you go. This can play an important role in how the game progresses. Certain things have to be completed in order for you to advance and continue on.

A lot of these games are made after movies. There is a Shutter Island and an Alice in Wonderland version of these hidden object games. So you get to play through your favorite movies as your favorite character. There are also a lot of games that are set on exotic islands or mysterious desolate towns. You get to meet helpful characters that assist you on your quest. There are all sorts of genres, one to satisfy every customer. Some are dark versions like solving a murder mystery that have eerie music and creepy characters with scary scenes. Others are light like waking from a dreamless sleep and escaping a castle with your faerie friends. The stories can vary, but there is surely a game sure to satisfy any of your desires.

The colors and graphics are often done quite well. Some I'm really impressed by. The cut scenes and little mono-movies are also at times impressive. The graphics can be done really well. Don't get me wrong don't expect graphics that rival a PlayStation 3 game. If that's what you want go elsewhere. But the time consuming fun is still there.

So the next question is "Where can I find and play a hidden object game?" Ruby Games has plenty of hidden object games to full fill your childhood obsession of "Highlight." The best part is you don't have to make an initial purchase. They allow you to play an hour for free to try out the game. If you decide you like it then you can make a purchase. If not, then no money spent.

Why RTS Game is a Wise Choice for Gamer?

There is no doubt that video games were and still being of attention in these last years. Of course there are people who think they are a waste of time, but they are not. I remember during my child hood when Nintendo came up with NES. However, what really left footprints in the world of video games were computer games.

There was just one kind of video game that really liked me: The Real Time Strategy Game. A RTSG is strategy game as its name says it, is a strategy game. The main objective of this kind of game is to breed and lead an army in order to win a battle against other players.

Since the beginning of computer games, have been several genders for this type of game: From middle age battles to star-field battles. During my youth, I played most game titles regarding to real time strategy available on the market. The difference between game and game is the way to play it as well as the properties from each one; however, to learn to play this kind of games you need to be skilled.

What is the best strategy for this kind of games?

First off, we must know each and every one of the elements of the game. Once learned these elements, we must know about the weakness and strengths of each of the units or characters of the game. For example, Blizzard's Starcraft game. The combat is carried out on a remote galaxy where three different civilizations are engaged in battle for survival and supremacy. Each unit for each civilization has a property that gives a certain advantage to its race.

Once knowing the game details, the following step is to master it. A good practice on this kind of games is to learn their HOTKEYS. Hotkeys are short direct access to commands of the game. These commands can be performed with the mouse as well. The next step is to practice. Personally, I prefer practicing with the AI of the computer before going against humans. Human players are hard to beat, especially when they are experienced players.

Is playing useful?

Many people believe playing is a waste of time. It may be a waste of time on games such as Grand theft auto. But, in my opinion, real time strategy games are helpful on developing mental skills such as fast thinking, take of decisions among others. However, as on any activity, we must keep a balance.

Top 10 PC Games

There are many top PC game countdowns out there, but they often find themselves to be skewed to the more recent releases. This list looks at not only the technical feats of the game, but also it's popularity, its longevity and its playability to create a list of the top PC games (and series) of all times - games that have endured and become household names, and games that each of us have and will hold dear memories of. In no particular order they are:

Half Life 1 & 2 - Half Life and its spin offs all rely on a physiques engine that borders on perfect, inspired level design, fantastic action set pieces and solid story line that makes this series a popular number one on all PC count downs. This is one of the few games to truly make you feel as though you are playing a movie and effortlessly bends genres and raises the medium to a higher level of art.

Command & Conquer - The strategy genre has to be one that belongs to the PC, and Command & Conquer is the series that is perhaps most associated with those games. This essentially created the genre in fact, and has since seen countless incarnations.

Halo - So Halo didn't start on PC technically (though Xbox is arguably the closest console to a PC), but nevertheless it is one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences to be found on one mixing a solid first person shooter with great sweeping set pieces, vehicles and excellent physics.

Duke Nukem - If the PC were to have a mascot in the vein of Sonic the Hedgehog or Mario, you could well make an argument for that mascot being Duke Nukem. While being instantly identifiable and highly popular, the series also has some very solid entries and a range of mediocre spin-offs (a hallmark of any mascot). Few people realise that Duke Nukem actually started life as a 2D side-scrolling platformer from Apogee software which a lot of the people at the time owned as shareware. It's the brilliantly funny and subversively risque Duke Nukem 3D though that most people associate with the character and which still survives today as a seminal example of a 1st person shooter. Sadly, since Duke Nuke forever was cancelled (after years in the making) the future of the franchise seems uncertain.

Jazz Jack Rabbit - Jazz Jack Rabbit is now old enough that many people will never have heard of him, but back in the days of 2D platformers he was one of the most identifiable gaming characters around. A fact helped by a sequel that outdid its predecessor and had one of the catchiest soundtracks in video game history. Rumours about a return for the rabbit are rife in internet chat rooms.

Medal of Honour - Despite strong competition from games like Crysis, Medal of Honour must be the most loved first person shooter of the last few years with incredibly atmospheric levels that make you feel like you're really in a war zone and one of the most successful multiplayer modes ever.

The Quake Series - It was quake that pretty much designed the 'deathmatch' style 1st person shooter and dominated online games for years. While it has since lost its way a little, the first three instalments were all highly popular and continually improved on their predecessors.

Worms - Worms represents that type of 'gaming gold' that can genuinely appeal to all demographics. A turn based game that's actually fun it was perfect fodder for parties and some versions have also featured popular online modes. Unfortunately it has recently struggled with an ill-advised transition to 3D.

Unreal - Unreal was the only series to really pose much of a threat to Quake, and the first game also boasted one of the first times a game would let you move seamlessly from the outdoors to the indoors. The Unreal engine would fuel many future games around this time, including a few others on this list.

Doom - Of course Doom needs to make the list of any top PC games countdown. As one of the first successful 1st person shooters (right behind Frankenstein) and also one of the scariest games of its time, this has a place in the hearts of many older gamers (and the recent Doom 3 wasn't too bad either).

Top 10 PC Games and many other interesting top ten lists are available on author's site.
